When two lining options look similar on paper, the GSM difference can help manufacturers understand how they will behave inside a finished garment. A 52 GSM polyester lining fabric is lighter, creates less bulk and can work well when comfort and easy movement are priorities. It is particularly suitable for lightweight blazers, safari suits and outerwear.

An 85 GSM lining provides greater substance and can create a fuller interior finish. This makes it useful for sherwanis, premium suits and garments where the lining is visible or contributes to the overall luxury impression. Neither weight is automatically superior. The right polyester lining is the one that balances the outer fabric, construction and intended use. Double Ghoda supplies different GSM and weave options so garment manufacturers can select a lining based on actual production requirements rather than relying on weight alone.
