The inside of a garment can contribute significantly to how a finished piece is perceived, particularly when the garment is worn open. For premium suits, sherwanis, and festive jackets, polyester lining fabric can provide an opportunity to create an interior that complements the outer material. The selection should consider the garment's construction, the visibility of the lining, and the balance between appearance and weight. Rather than using one lining for every style, manufacturers can choose different specifications according to the finish they want.

Double Ghoda supplies polyester lining in four weave types: Jacquard, Satin Dobby, Satin, and Taffeta. Jacquard has a woven pattern that gives the surface a decorative character, making it relevant when the interior is visible. Satin offers a smoother finish, while Satin Dobby provides another patterned woven surface. Taffeta provides an additional option for garments where a lighter lining is required. These choices give manufacturers flexibility when creating different interior finishes within the same collection.

GSM is another factor that affects the character of the lining. The supplied polyester lining range covers 52 to 85 GSM. Lighter options can help keep the interior relatively low in bulk, while heavier options can provide a fuller feel. This distinction can matter when comparing a lightweight blazer with a more substantial sherwani or suit. However, the highest GSM is not automatically the right choice. The outer fabric, garment construction, desired drape, and visibility of the lining should all be considered before selecting the material.

A useful way to assess premium polyester lining fabric is to test it with the actual garment fabric and construction. Compare suitable samples for colour, surface appearance, drape, and hand-feel, then select the combination that fits the intended design. Manufacturers should also consider repeatability when preparing for larger production runs. Recording the selected weave, GSM, and colour creates a clear reference for future orders. This makes lining selection more systematic and helps maintain a consistent interior finish across a collection rather than relying on appearance alone.
