From Sample to Bulk Order: A Better Way to Source Polyester Lining

A successful bulk order for polyester lining fabric usually begins with a sample rather than a purchase quantity. Specifications can narrow the options, but the actual garment shows whether the lining works with the outer fabric, construction and production process. This makes sample evaluation an important part of textile sourcing.
The shortlist can start with weight and weave. Double Ghoda's 100% polyester range runs from 52–85 GSM across four constructions. Taffeta (190T) is 52–65 GSM and has a lightweight, smooth, non-bulky finish. Satin is 67–80 GSM with a smooth, glossy surface and good drape. Satin dobby is 72–82 GSM and has a textured satin base with a richer hand. Jacquard ranges from 80–85 GSM and has a woven surface pattern.
Once a few options are shortlisted, assess them against the garment. Consider the outer fabric's weight, weave and care routine, along with the intended lining coverage and finish. Check fabric width and roll length against production requirements. Colour should also be reviewed, particularly when the same shade needs to be sourced again. Double Ghoda offers black, navy, white and off-white as top-selling colours, with more than 50 shades available overall and consistent dye lots.
The sample should then go through the same practical stages as production. Check sliding, movement, hang, sewing, seam puckering, wrinkling, pressing and care response. If the sample performs as required, retain it as the approved reference for the bulk order and later batches. Double Ghoda supplies its polyester lining in 45-metre rolls and offers Taffeta, Satin, Satin Dobby and Jacquard options. This sample-first approach allows manufacturers to make a more informed sourcing decision while reducing the risk of choosing a lining based only on a specification sheet.
